CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES: Next
weekend our parish will take up the Works of the Holy Father/Catholic
Relief Services Collection. This collection makes possible the
mission fo the Catholic Church in America to combat poverty, provide
relief and development, assist refugees and immigrants , and advocate
for justice and peace in situations of conflict and neglect of basic
human rights throughout the world. Thank you for your generous support.
PRAYER AFTER RECEIVING HOLY
COMMUNION: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, by the will of
the Father and the work of the Holy Spirit your death brought life to
the world. By Your holy body and blood free me from all my sins and
from every evil. Keep me faithful to Your teaching, and never let me
be parted from you.
BRING SOMEONE TO CHURCH: It has
been shown that many persons would return to the practice of their
faith if someone would invite them to return. And, surprisingly, this
is especially true if the one asking was at one time one of those who
had left the practice of their faith. What greater time is there than
to bring someone back to church during these days of Lent and the
coming days of Palm Sunday and Holy Week.
OPEN HOUSE: Seton Catholic Central
School (206 New York Road) grades 7-12, will have an Open House on
Wednesday, March 12th, 5 7 PM for those who want to find out
more about the educational program offered by this Catholic High
School. Seton Academy (23 St. Charles Street) Grades PK-6 will meet
parents on March 11th starting at 6:30. Parents will meet in the gym
followed by school tours with time to speak with teachers and staff
and registration of new and current students in PK-6th for the
2008-09 school year
THIRD WEEK OF LENT - OPTION FOR THE
POOR: Jesus guides the Samaritan woman to a greater appreciation of
the TruthHimself. Education is key to our lives, regardless of
our age. Pailash, a young Indian boy stricken with polio, didnt
have access to education. He survived by selling newspapers and slept
in fear of being robbed. Finally he found safety and opportunity in a
Kolkata school for orphans supported by Catholic Relief Services.
Today, he eats regular meals, enjoys studying math, and is preparing
to learn a useful trade. A fundamental option for the poor is a
central tenet of the Churchs teachings and mission. CRS helps
to expand educational opportunities world-wide, giving new hope to
the poor. Your participation in Operation Rice Bowl will make the
dreams of young people like Pailash achievable
