Mission Intention for March
That the importance of forgiveness
and reconciliation between individuals and peoples be understood and
that through their testimony the Church may spread Christs
love, the source of new humanity.
BAPTISM: Adrian Joseph Barnes, son
of Eric and Toni (Pellerin) Barnes became a member of the Catholic
community through the Sacrament of Baptism on February 24th.
DIGNITY OF WORK AND RIGHTS OF
WORKERS: Jean Denis and François are neighbors in Coteaux,
Haiti. For years they barely supported their families through
subsistence farming. In 2002, they joined an agricultural
co-operative organized by Catholic Relief Services and began to see
change. They received and planted better seed, diversified their
crops, found better techniques for raising livestock, learned to
combat erosion, and generated surplus crops to take to market. Now
their families no longer face hunger or
malnutrition. As Jesus transformed
the life of the blind man, so Catholic Relief Services transforms the
lives of rural farmers. By giving through Operation Rice Bowl and
purchasing Fair Trade products, you support the dignity of workers by
ensuring just wages and economic self-sufficiency.
LIVING STATIONS: The Youth
community of St. Josephs Church, invites you to a presentation
of the Living Stations on Palm Sunday, March 16th at 7:30 PM at St.
Josephs Church, Dannemora.
CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES: This
weekend our parish will take up the Works of the Holy Father/Catholic
Relief Services Collection. Nearly half the worlds population
lives on less than $2.00 a day. For Catholics, these are not just
statistics but brothers and sisters who need our help. This
Collection supports Church agencies that provide emergency relief in
times of crisis, support long-term development programs, offer
assistance to immigrants and refugees, and advocate for a more just
and peaceful world. Please give generously
