CHRISTMAS COLLECTION: Our parish
Christmas Collection is divided between our parish and the
Priests Retirement Fund of the Diocese of Ogdensburg. Total
pension payments for the 38 retired priests of the diocese are
currently $587,280 per year. Your contributions are also used by the
diocese to prepare for retirement needs of priests who will retire in
the future. Your gift in the Christmas collection will be appreciated
by the dedicated priests who have served you in the past through a
contribution to our Christmas Collection.
RIGHT TO LIFE MARCH: The Champlain
Valley Right to Life will hold its annual Plattsburgh March for Life
on Sunday, January 13. The march starts at 1:30 PM at the Newman
Center, 90 Broad Street, followed by a program at 2:00 PM at St.
Johns Church. The speaker this year will be Father Thomas
Euteneuer, President of the Human Life International, Pro-life
Missionaries of the World. A reception will follow in the parish
center at St. Johns. Those who cannot make the walk may join
the group at St. Johns Church.
VOCATIONS: Stop asking for a sign
and become one. Consider becoming a priest or religious. If God is

FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT: As we are
about to celebrate the beautiful feast of Christmas, we are reminded
that God our Father, through his Son Jesus Christ calls us in this
moment to sing the Christmas songs of joy. . May the Prince of Peace
bless you and your families during this Christmas season.
MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER: Those wishing

VISIT OF POPE BENEDICT XVI TO NEW
YORK CITY: Between April 15-20, 2008 Pope Benedict XVI will visit the
United States. He will complete his visit with a Mass at Yankee
Stadium in New York City. Buses will be leaving Plattsburgh for the
Mass in New York. They will leave very early Sunday morning, April
20, 2008 from Seton Academy (across from St. Peters Church)
parking lot. Premier Coach will take you directly to Yankee Stadium
for the 2:30 p.m. Liturgy. Security necessitates an early arrival at
the stadium. After the Papal Liturgy the coach will return to
Plattsburgh with an estimated arrival of midnight. Coach will stop
for meals at fast service restaurants. Meals are not included. Per
person price is $65. Forms for you to complete are at the entrance to
the Church. Down payment is $25 and is due by January 15, 2008.
CHRISTMAS FLOWERS COLLECTION: As in
the past you will find envelopes at the entrance to the church for
memorial donations for Christmas flowers and decorations. Place your
envelope with your contribution in the collection basket. Your
generous contribution is very much appreciated.
DECORATING THE CHURCH: You are
invited to help decorate the church and prepare the manger scene for
the festive Christmas season on Sunday afternoon, December 23rd
starting at 1:30. It should take about two hours. Please come to help
us as well as to give us your decorating suggestions.
2008 SUNDAY OFFERING ENVELOPES:
There are many 2008 Sunday offering envelopes still at the entrance
to the church. Please pick up yours today. Anyone wishing to use
envelopes who are not currently using them can take a box of
envelopes. Be sure to print your name and address on the first envelope.
